John currently serves as Chairman of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia and a Past-President of the Nova Scotia Road Builders Association. John also sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Construction Association and has most recently taken over the Presidency of the Nova Scotia Construction Curling Association. Prior to joining the family business, John spent six years as Project Superintendent and Project Manager for several major civil projects in British Columbia. John holds a Civil Engineering degree from Dalhousie University and subsequenlty completed the renown Executive Program at Queens University. He is an active member of TEC Canada.
Scott heads up Ocean's Concrete and Foundation Divisions. He is also taking a lead role in marketing and public relations for the company. Prior to entering the family business, Scott gained valuable professional experience with PCL in Vancouver and later with the United Nations in Geneva. He is currently Vice President of the Atlantic Concrete Association and Chair's the Advisory Board for the Centre of Family Business and Regional Prosperity at Dalhousie University. Acitive within the community, Scott sits on the Board of Directors of Phoenix Youth Programs and the Flemming Chairtable Foundation. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from Dalhousie University and most recently completed the Executive Program at Queens University.
Steve oversees all field operations, equipment and personnel. With more than 30 years experience at Ocean, Steve brings a strong mix of industry, market and operational experience to the management team.
Beginning as summer student and a member of a paving crew, Steve's career has evolved through the ranks at Ocean. His knowledge is comprised of the experience he has gained having worked as a foreman, concrete dispatcher, concrete plant manager, superintendent, and general superintendent.
